This is the start of a beautiful friendship

This is my first post on my blog. I get to start afresh which is a great feeling. I used to have a blog on live journal which I have now thankfully deleted along with all the entries I had made. I am definitely embarrassed by a lot of the posts I made and it made me cringe a whole deal. I feel pretty good o be on blogspot because a few of my own favorite ones are on here.

A big favourite of mine is http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com/. The blog is done by David Mills who is a great journalist, author and has written and worked on brilliant shows like The Wire and The Corner. On his blog he has really insightful interviews with people like David Simon (the brilliant mind behind The Wire and The Corner) and Oprah Winfrey before she became the cultural institution she is now. He has great taste (for the most part) in music etc so check that one out if you want to learn a thing or two. If he does read this I am really looking forward to David Simon's new show Treme because if anyone should tackle Katrina and New Orleans it them. So hopefully he will read this because I am so important (ha ha) and give us some updates.

I will also be using this blog as a way to connect with people who get into my music. Right now I am writing/composing/producing the music whilst finding another singer. But in the coming months I will be getting a band together and will start to play live. So hopefully (like Amanda Palmer's blog) it can be an outlet for me to connect with whoever is interested in my music. As I wrote in my profile I would like to build a network of like minded people who would like to help make their ideas a reality. I want to combat this competitive spirit that seems to have permeated society for far too long. The idea that we have to trample people around us in order move forward or move ahead in life.
